In September 2020 Yoo Capital became the majority owner of Shepherd’s Bush Market. Yoo Capital is a real estate investment firm that specialises in creating unique places that celebrate heritage, diversity, and character, and working with communities to invest in their areas.
The team at Yoo Capital know the Shepherd’s Bush area well as the joint owners of the Olympia London exhibition centre where they have worked with the local community to develop proposals for a new theatre, live music venue, arthouse cinema, office space, jazz-club style restaurant, hotels, shops and eateries to compliment the exhibition space.
Shepherd’s Bush Market is a much-loved part of the community and Yoo Capital is committed to working with the traders and community to ensure that it continues to be for many years to come.

We have also been working with the team at St Mungo’s since we acquired the site. Their tenancy for the Market Lane site was due to end in mid-December but they are aiming to move current residents to alternative accommodation before the end of month to ensure a smooth transition for everyone.
In order to ensure the security of the building and put it to good use, we have been speaking to Angelique Schmitt, Founder of Kindred Studios, about reopening the space as studios for approximately 75 local artists on a temporary basis.
Kindred Studios is a charitable organisation with a strong focus on supporting talented artists through the provision of inspiring workspaces and weaving creative communities that engage with their surrounding area. Their buildings are home to exceptional artists, artisans, and craftspeople- spanning conceptual fine art all the way to architecture, and even lute making. The artists would take the space at Market Lane as it is and there would be no construction work required for them to move in. Kindred Studios are in the process of building a permanent home in Ravenscourt Park, which they expect to move into in December 2021/January 2022 and they would like to take out a year-long lease on the Market Lane buildings running from January 2021 to December 2021.
